Welcome to CheckedOut – a platform where employees can express their work-related frustrations honestly and anonymously. Our mission is to foster a transparent environment that facilitates real change in the workplace. Here's how we do it:

Anonymity

At CheckedOut, we understand the importance of speaking your mind without fear of repercussions. You can share your experiences and concerns freely, knowing your identity is secure. We don't mandate that you log in and verify your identity. Unfortunately, we do have to employ a CAPTCHA to deter spam bots. Anonymity does come at a cost: competitors, trolls, and spammers could nefariously skew the data. We strive to be transparent, but data from verified sources will always have a higher integrity than anonymous data. We're working on allowing users to confirm their emails if they want to, and in the future, companies may place more importance on our verified data.

Grouped feedback and no free text

Your individual feedback is valuable, but your privacy is paramount. To ensure no one is singled out, we present data items in groups of at least 20. This aggregation maintains the integrity of individual opinions while safeguarding personal identities. We also don't ask free text questions so we can protect anonymity.

Focus on constructive criticism

We believe in the power of constructive criticism. CheckedOut is exclusively for sharing concerns and "negative" experiences, not for praise. This focus prevents companies from manipulating the platform to boost their image and ensures that the feedback is geared towards tangible improvements.

Negative feedback driving positive change

The goal of CheckedOut isn't just to vent – it's to enact meaningful change. By providing companies with honest, unfiltered employee feedback, we lay the groundwork for improvements in company culture, policies, and practices. We believe the alternative, which is usually companies sending out surveys to their own employees, can often be self-serving and non-actionable.

Beyond reviews and rankings

At CheckedOut, we're not about bashing companies. You won't find reviews or rankings here. Our purpose is to provide a space for genuine feedback that can help companies evolve and become better employers. For example, suppose a company enacts a new HR policy or business practice and sees an uptick in specific metrics on CheckedOut. In that case, they have a new and unique insight into employee morale they didn't have prior.
